Living in an apartment can be noisy—particularly with adjoined walls, neighboring complexes and a host of other things. If you are dealing with unwanted noise, here are a couple tips for keeping your house nice and quiet.

 

Heavy drapes:  something as simple as heavy drapes can help reduce outside noise from coming into your apartment. If a window is bringing in all that unwanted noise, thinking about changing or adding thick drapes.

 

Cork: if the sound is coming from a wall, decorate that area with sheets of cork, the material is perfect for sound proofing a room.

 

Music: the brain is adept and drowning out certain sounds, so play light music and let your brain focus on that instead of whatever loud noises may be outside.
